RESI's Next Big Thing

RESI's Next Big Thing

The first RESI's Next Big Thing was a resounding success with four new business pitches judged by industry figureheads Bruce Ritchie, Tony Pidgley (recently crowned the industry’s most influential person), Nick Candy and “real dragon” James Caan. The winner, announced at the delegate dinner, was an online customer review site for the private rented sector from Howard Morgan, founder and MD at Real Service.

Howard’s ‘CheckYourLet.com’ site aims to bring greater transparency to the private rented sector via online trusted customer reviews, it was inspired by TripAdvisor. The pitch resulted in securing support for a £20,000 pilot study from a group of businesses willing to sponsor at £2,000 each.

Howard said: “I’m really pleased to have won RESI's Next Big Thing competition because it sends a clear message to me and the RESI audience that customer service is really important. The property industry has customers and we need to listen to what they have to say – we need to be as transparent as other industries!”
